Find Out If Your Disability Check Will Come Early

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) offer monthly payments to eligible recipients who can't work because of a disability.

The payment date typically depends on the recipient's birth date. For example, if your birthday falls on the 1st to the 10th of the month, you'll receive SSDI payments on the second Wednesday of each month. For birthdays between the 11th and 20th, it's the third Wednesday, and for the 21st to 31st, it's the fourth Wednesday.

For SSI, payments usually arrive on the 1st of each month. If the 1st is on a weekend or federal holiday, you get paid on the business day before.

If a scheduled payment date falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the money usually arrives in your account on the preceding business day. This means your disability check might arrive early, so it's good to keep an eye on the monthly payment schedule.
