Wondering when your April 2024 disability payment arrives? Our payment calendar can help answer any questions you might have. The day you get paid depends on the date you were born and when you first filed a claim. If your disability insurance includes both SSDI and SSI, that also affects your payment date.
Knowing the exact day you’ll receive your SSDI payment makes managing your money a lot easier. If you know when the money’s coming, you can plan your bills and other spending without having to worry or guess. It takes the guesswork out of budgeting, and that means fewer surprises and less stress about making ends meet.

April SSI benefits will be paid on Monday, April 01, 2024.
There can be payment exceptions if the payment date lands on a weekend or federal holiday.
Weekend Exception: For SSI payments, if the 1st of the month lands on a weekend, the SSI payment will be sent on the previous business day. This means that sometimes you can receive two SSI payments in the same month (and the next month will be skipped).
Federal Holiday Exception: If your SSDI payment date lands on a federal holiday, benefits will be paid on the previous business day.
Receiving Both SSDI and SSI: If you are receiving both SSDI and SSI, your SSDI benefit is paid on the 3rd of the month, and your SSI payment is paid on the 1st.

Receiving your benefit payments
When you file an SSDI or SSI claim, you will be asked to choose a payment method. You can receive your benefit payments via direct deposit or debit card.
Direct deposit is the safest and most convenient way to receive your SSDI or SSI payments. This option deposits the money directly into your checking or savings account.
Once direct deposit is set up, the payment is automatically deposited each month.
Direct Express Debit Card
The Direct Express Mastercard lets you access your benefit payments without needing a bank account. Your benefit payment is added to your card balance, and your monthly funds are ready to be used that same day.
Please note: If you didn’t receive your payment on time, please wait three business days before contacting the SSA.
